Consumer Feature: Johnny Cash Tour Bus To Be Restored
The motorcoach collector who bought Johnny Cash's customized MCI tour bus is having it restored to original condition. Imagine the stories this coach has to tell, having covered nearly 400,000 miles as Cash's home on wheels from 1979 until his passing in 2003. It ferried not only Cash and his wife, June Carter, but pals like Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. The bus is subdivided into four areas, and naturally, the overriding color theme is black. Cash paid over $500,000 to have the bus custom built by Custom Coach Corporation in the late 1970s. The restoration will be done by Creative Mobile Interiors in Ohio.
