Day Trip Sprinter - Luxury Family Travel
This beautiful 170" Extended Mercedes Sprinter was converted into a glitzy, yet extremely comfortable family vacation vehicle. The project, from start to finish, was featured on 2012's "Extreme RVs" on the Travel Channel! Check out some videos from the show HERE, and see more details and photos below!
The unique and high-style appeal of this vehicle is seen immediately on the exterior. The simple but classy black paint was spiced up with metallic silver running boards, front fascia, and side body panels. CMI also added a side awning for enjoying some outdoor relaxation. Just inside the rear doors, some unique features were added - access to a hidden trash receptacle is done through the driver's side cabinet while two passenger side flip-up shelves give flexibility for storage and leisure. The bottom shelf flips up to reveal hidden storage beneath the interior sofa, and it also acts as a perfect platform for setting up a rear TV!
The clean, modern interior continues the same classy and sophisticated look from the exterior. Six silver and graphite captain's chairs (including the driver and passenger) reside near the front. Four of these seats swivel 360 degrees to create more intimate and comfortable interior arrangements. Behind these comfy chairs is an even more luxurious J-lounge sofa. From each of the seating positions, passengers can view one of two 22" flip-down TVs, each with their own source - PS3, DVD, InMotion satellite TV, you choose! No matter what is on, it will sound great on the deluxe stereo system. Across from the rear sofa is a unique storage cabinet with refrigerator, custom ice-chests, and a hidden trash drop.
Just behind, and between, the front seats CMI custom fabricated a center console and bar area. In the driver's area this cabinetry features cup holders, a storage pocket, and a large (padded) armrest storage console. Behind the seats are two lockable cabinets and a beautiful curved cabinet for glassware. Lastly, this cabinet houses the 7" touch-screen stereo unit. The Quartz counter tops throughout act as a glimmering 'cherry-on-top" as they actually have metal flake embedded with the stone!
Other slick features include pull-out aviator tray tables, and a corrugated metal-look floor. Day / night shades, LED lighting, custom throw pillows, two AC / heat options, and a 2.8 KW generator system round out this one-off build.
