Screened-In Camping Sprinter
This 2016 Mercedes 170'' Standard Sprinter came to us as a passenger van with a dream of being so much more. The owners of this van needed it to be adventure-ready and comfortable, and so the conversion process with CMI began!
When entering in through the sliding door, a pull-out-shower is available for washing off feet or furry companions. Both the sliding door entrance and the rear doors have the option of being completely screened-in, meaning doors can be open for mother nature's breezy air while also keeping the nature out.
We kept the factory ceiling and side walls as they were in the driver's area and installed two custom leather captain's chairs on swivel bases so they can turn and utilize the removable table while watching the LED TV mounted in the galley area. A large custom-built closet located directly behind the driver provides storage and leads into the roomy bathroom with full shower and toilet. Behind the galley and restroom is a lofted queen sized bed with a custom-built headboard and built-in "nightstands" with cupholders and outlets. Of course, there is a built-in generator on board so that the amenities can be utilzied while the van is turned off, and we also installed an Espar system that provides diesel-fired heat and hot water.
