Custom Ford Transit - Special Needs
This Ford Transit (short wheel base, medium-roof) was converted from an empty cargo van into a wheelchair accessible vacationer for a husband and wife. A Braun Century wheelchair lift was installed at the sliding-door entrance, and we put a swivel-base on the passenger's seat for an easy transition to the front cab area. CMI custom built the walls and celings, red and grey, and installed LED puck lights throughout. Luxurious UltraLeather captain's chairs were installed in the rear cabin and recline electronically for maximum comfort. The custom floor has Q'Straint tie downs for the wheelchair to stay in place, and storage areas for the portable toilet which can become a private bathroom with an enclosed curtain behind the driver's area.
