Wheelchair Accessible Mobile Design Lab

 

The team at CMI worked closely with our customer to turn this Chevy C5500 Turtle Top Shuttle Bus into a mobile lab for educational purposes. The floorplan was designed with multiple seating configurations and workstations to encourage collaboration and creativity.

 

This retrofit/conversion included the following main features:

  • New subfloor and LVT flooring
  • Custom-built cabinetry with ample counter space, refrigerator
  • 3 interior LED TVs
  • Power exterior awning, 1 exterior TV to be used for presentations (portable)
  • Vehicle WiFi system, AppleTVs
  • Custom seating areas with lift-up cushions for miscellaneous storage
  • LED light-strips
  • Custom workstations with TV monitors and dinette seating
  • 110v and USB outlets throughout
  • Generator system and HVAC
  • Wheelchair lift
