Mobile Mental Health Vehicle - The CHILL MOBILE
This mobile mindfulness conversion started off with a Winnebago Specialty Vehicles J33S that was built specifically for this project. In conjunction with Allegheny Health Networks and the Pittsburgh Pirates, CMI created one of the most unique vehicles on the road.
The custom RV will travel around the Pittsburgh area providing a calming space to school students where they can experience interactive calming exercises and develop coping skills. In addition to helping children learn new techniques, AHN and the Pirates also hope to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and wellness. At first glance of the second photo, you may think that the conversion didn't entail much.. But switch the lights off and the computer on and you're immersed in a one of a kind experience.
Via a complex system of projectors and motion sensors, we were able to create a blank space that can turn into a different world - from being in the woods to being under the sea, the projectors (and speakers) transport you to a calming place. And the motion sensors mean that as you move through the vehicle, the projected world reacts to your movements! And of course there's a big TV and an astroturf wall with the Pirates logo, just to add some pizzazz.
