Bloomfield Township Fire Department
CMI delivered this customized Sprinter van to Bloomfield Township Fire Department to use as a unique incident command vehicle.
The shell is a 170" high roof cargo Sprinter that was supplied by the fire department. An additional window was installed and walls and ceilings were insulated. The vehicle is loaded with many features including a self-draining stainless steel ice chest, engine driven HVAC unit - aux rear A/C & heat unit, day/night shades, 2800w inverter/charger, 4-d storage battery to provide 110v power, master circuit control panel, Kussmaul external shore line (auto eject), LED lighting, fluorescent lighting, 12v power ports, and 120v outlets.
The main cabin area of the Sprinter functions as an on-site, incident command vehicle. Upon entering the passenger side door there is a full height, custom closet area, for long hanging clothes and uniform storage. Directly across from the entrance door (behind the drivers seat) is a multifunction, cabinet area. The lower portion has an integrated, pull-out table surface for maps, plans etc. The remainder of the cabinetry provides ample storage.
Continuing rearward, is a low height cabinet area with expansive counter surface. Across from this area is a main command/office desk. This area features custom tables that pull up and flip out to create a large interconnected workspace. Underneath the rear workstation is cabinetry that is accessed when the back doors are open. The rear office area includes a standard office chair and one pedestal mounted, captain seat. Both sides of the vehicle have full-length upper cabinet storage.
On top of all of the office functions, this Sprinter also provides plenty of seating. The people hauling abilities are a function of three (total) captains chairs and a two-person bench seat.
